Arts and culture are the lifeblood of our Gables community. Whether you fancy the visual, performing or cinematic arts, there is always something for you to experience and enjoy in The City Beautiful!  Since 2010, our City has commissioned numerous art installations as part of their Art in Public Places program. Through these various installations, they have created nationally known works by Alice Aycock, Hank Willis Thomas and Master Cruz Diez (curated for Art Basel each December), as well as invested in Umbrella Sky over Giralda Plaza, Venice in the Gables and many other permanent works of art that you can still enjoy today by way of walking, bicycling, car, Freebee or public trolley!

Home to numerous performance venues, often featuring your favorite off-Broadway productions, trendy tales and classical performances, art can be found in every form in our City. Make your way to the mainstage at the Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle TheatreGableStage or the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre at the University of Miami to enjoy their award-winning productions. Just a short trek from Coral Gables, you will find the world-renowned Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts one of the largest venues in the United States, home to Broadway in Miami, the Miami City Ballet, the Florida Grand Opera and more!

For nearly 40 years, art lovers have flooded the streets of the City Beautiful the first Friday of each month for Gallery Night. With coordinated transportation via the City trolley, Gallery Night highlights the contemporary, fine art, and modern art galleries that dot the City Beautiful artscape.

On the horizon we have the highly anticipated Illuminate Coral Gables installation, a modern art light installation that will be the first of its kind in Greater Miami. Set to debut in January 2021, Illuminate is a world-class, light-based exhibition. It will bring the City Beautiful to life – and light –  with stunning interactive art displays, video projections and light sculptures.
