Division Vice Chair- Amy Donner, Community Newspapers
This division identifies, develops and implements the necessary activities, resources and communication requirements to actively encourage the enrollment of new members, promote upgrade of memberships of existing members and retention of all members.
A) Council of Trustees
Linda Knudsen, Baptist Health South Florida
Welcome new trustees and inform them of the exclusive benefits they can partake in as Trustees. Up to five representatives from each Trustee company may attend Chamber functions. Monthly receptions at Trustee members’ business locations provide a gracious and informative opportunity for additional networking. Currently there are more than 160 Trustee members of the Chamber.
• Build monthly Trustee Luncheon attendance to 100 Trustee members and guests.
• Increase Trustee membership by 10 percent (plus 15).
• Create interesting monthly Trustee Luncheon venues and provide exceptional educational and entertaining speakers.
• Create a strong Trustee Diplomat team committed to making it “happen” for the Trustee Council. The team will consist of a mix of up-and-coming Trustee members, as well as seasoned Trustee members who believe in and convey the value of Trustee membership. Trustee Diplomats to be the face of the Trustee Council and will meet and greet at Trustee luncheons and receptions, and will feel comfortable prospecting for new Trustee members.
B) M-Team
Terry Romeu, ROSCH Insurance Group, Inc.
Build our membership through direct cultivation of new members and the support of membership promotions that encourages current members to invite and sponsor potential members to join the Chamber.
• M-Team’s new member sales goal is 15 (fifteen) new Trustees or the equivalent thereof
• Increase Retention to 75% for the general membership
• Ensure that M-Team members are present and visible at all large Chamber events to welcome visitors and first-time attendees assigned on a voluntary basis
• Continue to encourage new Chamber members to participate on the M-Team; identify outstanding sales leaders from the membership corps to join in our effort; goal of 20 active committee members
• Host an annual New Member Welcome Reception
• Create an incentive for lead generation for all committees when a prospect converts to a new member
C) Chairman’s Ambassadors
John Allen, Home Financing Center, Inc.
Ambassadors assist the Chamber in retaining its current membership through on-going personal contact, participation and education of Chamber membership benefi ts. Ambassadors also act as table hosts and greeters at the monthly membership breakfast and events, and develop and maintain activities to convert prospects into members.
• Chairman’s Ambassadors shall commit to attend no less than 70% (8 out of 11) GMCG breakfasts and are required to purchase the annual breakfast package
• Chairman’s Ambassadors need to make contact with new members within 30 days of assignment and shall submit the interview sheets to the Committee Chairman at the following Ambassador meeting
• Ambassador should include inviting the new members to an upcoming event
• Chairman’s Ambassadors should attend additional Chamber events other than GMCG and be more
proactive in the “host” role
D) 20/30 Group
Nathan Hodnett, MacPherson Insurance Agency
The 20/30 Group Committee provides a platform for emerging leaders within the Chamber to further develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, build their networks, contribute to the Coral Gables Community, and to have fun! Provides younger members of the Chamber with a core group of likeminded contacts from which to broaden their network and expand their businesses.
• Grow the Rising Star program to three (3) awards as we enter year six of their existence; explore creating a stand-alone luncheon/reception event for the future bestowal of these awards
• Host a WDW each month at a local restaurant (synergy with restaurant membership)
• Create more joint events with other committees of the Chamber; beyond that, explore working with other Chambers and Business Councils
• Create a sub-committee to manage volunteer events and annual non-profit initiatives
