The Place Where It Happens

It is my honor to serve as the 2026 – 2027 chair of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.

Serving as the voice of the local business community, the Chamber was founded in 1925 by Coral Gables founder George E. Merrick. Today, it is comprised of businesses and professionals united by a shared commitment to strengthening the local economy and promoting a thriving business environment. Through advocacy, economic development initiatives, and community engagement, the Chamber promotes sustainable growth throughout the region. Its mission is to advance business success and member engagement in Coral Gables and beyond – through a steadfast commitment to inclusiveness, relevance, and integrity.

Each month, we host nearly 20 events that create invaluable opportunities for business leaders to connect, engage, and strengthen relationships. Through approximately 20 committees and subcommittees, we offer pathways for involvement across diverse interests – from small business, advocacy, and travel & tourism to young professionals advancement, healthcare, diversity and inclusion, and international affairs. Whether you’re launching a venture or deepening existing partnerships, you’ll find your place here.

Coral Gables has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up just a few blocks from the University of Miami and spent countless hours riding my bike around campus as a child. That early connection came full circle when I graduated from UM and later built a professional career in Coral Gables that spanned more than two decades.

That professional journey demonstrates what makes Coral Gables exceptional for businesses:

Workforce Quality: Two-thirds of adults hold college degrees – ensuring access to educated talent and innovation.

Market Strength: Office vacancy rates are below 10 percent with a rising demand for prime office space.

That is why our theme this year is “The Place Where It Happens.” In the months ahead, I am committed to advancing four shared priorities: supporting our small businesses and entrepreneurs, creating the places and spaces where people can connect and collaborate, enhancing quality of life for everyone who lives and works in the City Beautiful, and, perhaps most importantly, enjoying the journey together.
