Hotels & Lodging

A visionary long before his time, City and Chamber founder George E. Merrick knew that no City was complete without extraordinary accommodations for business and leisure travelers alike.  What started out with a single, world-renowned property, The Biltmore Hotel (opened in 1926), the lodging landscape in Coral Gables has grown to encompass a number of properties, including several new gorgeous venues, offering everything from on-the-go accommodations for business or adventure travelers to high-end properties offering  glitz and glam equivalent to that found in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

Arts, Culture & Entertainment

Learn More

Arts and culture are the lifeblood of our Gables community. Whether you fancy the visual, performing or cinematic arts, there is always something for you to experience and enjoy in The City Beautiful!  Since 2010, our City has commissioned numerous art installations as part of their Art in Public Places program. Through these various installations, they have created nationally known works by Alice Aycock, Hank Willis Thomas and Master Cruz Diez (curated for Art Basel each December), as well as invested in Umbrella Sky over Giralda Plaza, Venice in the Gables and many other permanent works of art that you can still enjoy today by way of walking, bicycling, car, Freebee or public trolley!

Home to numerous performance venues, often featuring your favorite off-Broadway productions, trendy tales and classical performances, art can be found in every form in our City. Make your way to the mainstage at the Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, GableStage or the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre at the University of Miami to enjoy their award-winning productions. Just a short trek from Coral Gables, you will find the world-renowned Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts one of the largest venues in the United States, home to Broadway in Miami, the Miami City Ballet, the Florida Grand Opera and more!

For nearly 40 years, art lovers have flooded the streets of the City Beautiful the first Friday of each month for Gallery Night. With coordinated transportation via the City trolley, Gallery Night highlights the contemporary, fine art, and modern art galleries that dot the City Beautiful artscape.

On the horizon we have the highly anticipated Illuminate Coral Gables installation, a modern art light installation that will be the first of its kind in Greater Miami. Set to debut in January 2021, Illuminate is a world-class, light-based exhibition. It will bring the City Beautiful to life – and light –  with stunning interactive art displays, video projections and light sculptures.

Access to the great outdoors is one of the many things that sets Coral Gables apart in our live, work, learn and play lifestyle. With community resources like the War Memorial Youth Center, Ingraham Park, Phillips Park and other open green spaces, there’s no reason you can’t crush your fitness goals, while enjoying some fresh air and the scenic, tree-lined streets that are the hallmark of The City Beautiful.

If you’re looking for some friendly competition, then head over to the tennis courts at the William H. Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Center or the Salvadore Tennis Center, which provide ample opportunities to get outside and connect with nature. And, that’s not all! Coral Gables boasts some of the most beautiful golf courses, including the Donald Ross-designed course at The Biltmore Hotel, the nine-hole Granada Golf Course and the private Riviera Golf Course.

The highly anticipated Underline broke ground in 2018 near Brickell. This 10-mile, linear park will create 120-acres of open space that will restore natural habitats, encourage healthy lifestyle, and offer an easily accessible place to exercise, while taking advantage of the under-utilized space located beneath the Metrorail. Once completed, The Underline will span from Brickell Station to Dadeland Station with one of its longest stretches running through The City Beautiful.  And, with the City’s contribution of nearly $7 million dollars to match a federal grant, our community will be able to take full advantage of The Underline very soon.
